Summer Hat
Media: Pencil and Paper
My inspiration for this project was a picture that was found in a magazine. There were lots of other things to choose, but this one caught my attention the most. It was a very interesting picture, and I thought that the hat would be fun to draw. And it was very fun. A good challenge.
Making it was hard to do, because it was essential that it looks realistic. I started by drawing a large grid across my paper, and then a grid across the picture I was drawing. I did this so that I could split up the work and not have to spend so much time on one spot. After that I worked on each square on the grid, one by one, until it was finished.
Principals and Elements of Art
Media: Pencil, Color Pencil, and paper
My inspiration for this piece was a character named "Bill Cipher" From a recently ended show called "Gravity Falls". I figured he'd be easy to draw when drawing multiple copies, so that's why I choose him.
To make this, I first drew him on a piece of cardboard paper, then I cut it out around him to make a stencil. After this, I traced him lots of times on the poster paper, and colored each one according to the element or principle that went with it.
Lego Reflections
Media: Black paper and White pencil
For this piece, I was inspired from some Legos I had. I needed a picture of a reflection, saw the Legos, and thought they would be great. So I sat them on a mirro, and took the picture.
To make this piece, I first drew the legos in normal pencil on black paper. After that, I went over it with a white pencil and shaded the areas that needed it to show light.
Broken America
Media: Acrylic Paint
In this piece, I was inspired by the current state of America. I needed to paint cubism, and thought this would be great to show how America is broken right now, and how everybody is fighting about what they all think is right.
2 Point Upside Down
Media: Paper and Pencil
There really was no inspiration for this piece, since I did not base it off of anything. All I wanted to do was be original with it since everybody else were making cities that were right side up.
To make this piece I first drew my diamond that would shape the front of the city , and then made sure to draw all the doors and windows up side down. After that, I added in the background that had lots of tall building, all up side down of course.
Lono
Media: Clay
My inspiration for this piece was Lono, the god of fertility, peace, and music. I choose him because I like what he represents most, which is peace.
I made this piece using the slab method with clay. First I took a giant slab of clay, and formed a base. I then shaped the tube and started shaping the small details and mouth on him.
Autumn Stream
Material: Watercolor paint
This painting was inspired by a picture I found online of a stream by some autumn tress with multi colored leaves. Out of all the options I had, this one stood out the most.
I made this piece by starting with a backwash. After that, I painted the trunks of all the trees. Then, I painted all of the leaves and small details on the flowing stream.
Grave of a Dreamer
Media: Colored Pencil
My inspiration for this piece was the grave of Martin Luther King Junior. It was about his dream of a non-segregated world, where all could be safe and equal.
I started by drawing his grave, and adding the quote. Then I added the grass, to show that it was ground-level shot. That's about it for now because I did not get to finish it.
